Kenner Family Research Fund (KFRF) in collaboration with the Cancer Biomarker Research Group at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) presented the Early Detection of Pancreatic Cancer: Opportunities and challenges in Utilizing Electronic Health Records (eHR) on Monday, March 29th, 2021. The Workshop included a select group of eight expert panelists on current common data models for mining eHR. Panelists addressed how their model was being used for AI research and predictive risk modeling, delineated the strengths and weaknesses of each model, and reviewed potential challenges in applying to a federated system.
Following the presentations, a conversation between the experts and workshop participants was facilitated by William Hoos, Executive Director, Canopy Cancer Collective. Next Steps were presented by Suresh Chari, M.D., The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and Sudhir Srivastava, Ph.D., M.P.H., M.S., Cancer Biomarkers Research Group, Division of Cancer Prevention, NCI.
